The big news around our house this week: potty training! So big that I wanted to clear my entire week to focus on it. That meant no grocery shopping first thing Monday morning. Instead, I meal planned on Friday night (it was super weird, didn’t feel right at all, and thus took forever!), and hit the store first thing Saturday morning. Oh, and kid free since the hubby was home. I was in and out of the No Frills in like 20 minutes, with 4 big bags full of groceries and a bill of only $59! It was like magic! My plan for clearing the week to focus on potty training? It has already be thwarted! The kiddo says the super cheap Ikea potty that we bought him, is uncomfortable. He has practically no bum, and is super skinny, so I can totally see how this is true. So instead of staying home this morning, we are off to Walmart to buy a new potty…
And yes I realize this is kind of gross, going from talking about potty training right into food, lol, but don’t worry that the end of the potty talk on this blog!
Here is what we are eating this week:
Monday – pork chops mashed potatoes and broccoli (didn’t end up eating the chops or potatoes last week, as we ended up at my in-laws)
Tuesday – bbq’d turkey sausages with grilled peppers and onions and a garden salad
Wednesday – Greek pasta
Thursday – turkey french dip sandwiches (from my trusty Food Network magazine, also found here)
Friday – cheese and onion quiche with garden salad
As you can see I am making yet another recipe from my Food Network Magazine. Those recipes I made last week were amazing! I didn’t care for the eggplant one (because, it turns out I don’t like eggplant, lol) but the hubby loved it. The rice and the hash were incredible! They are for sure going to be regulars at our house! I’m thinking I might even make that hash with eggs for Easter brunch this year.
As always, I am linking up with Org Junkie, make sure to check out her meal plan, as well as the hundreds of others that link up!
