Here we go again! Another week flown by, and somehow we are in the middle of July. I do love summer, but it has been so hot here that I am over it! I want my cool fall days, wearing jeans and boots with cozy sweaters! Right now we are stuck inside in the air conditioning because it is so hot and humid outside, my kids don’t do well in the heat, and neither do I.
Here is what we are eating this week:
Monday – slow cooker buffalo chicken with garlic green beans (from my garden!) and a garden salad
Tuesday – bbq’d burgers with cucumber salad
Wednesday – spaghetti
Thursday – salisbury steaks with gravy and garlic mashed potatoes
Friday – cheese ravioli in a creamy garlic sauce with a garden salad
How do your meals change in the summer? We try to eat locally and in season, especially from our own veggie garden. But we also try not to use the oven too much. Everything is either stove top (or counter top in the slow cooker) or cooked on the barbeque.
