Foodie Pen Pals – September Reveal Day

Normally I post my meal plans on Mondays and link up with Org Junkie, but today is the reveal day for Foodie Pen Pals, so that is taking priority!

The Lean Green Bean

I have decided not to participate in October, as life is just too crazy to add something else to my to-do list, but hopefully I will join in the fun again in November.

This month I was matched up with a very sweet teacher who lives in BC. She is a lover of Bento boxes and brings cup cakes to work every single Friday for the other teachers! Sounds like a great place to work :) I was so excited to open my mail box and find her pen pal package waiting for me! Here are all the wonderful things she sent me:

all the goods :)

With the tiny bit of information I gave her, she nailed it! This package was awesome, so many yummy treats! Dark chocolate; the little ones we the first to go! Flavoured craisins that I hadn’t tried yet, and will be perfect in a fall salad with some apples and walnuts. So much tea, which is great, because I am such a tea granny! I think I have about 6 or 7 teas in the cupboard right now! Yummy Jelly Belly candies which are one of my favourite treats of all time!) And of course some colourful cupcake liners and a recipe for vanilla cupcakes, and a sweet letter! As much fun as it is to receive a package each month, I think the best part about this program is “meeting” other people. Yes some are bloggers, so finding a new blog to read is great, but getting to know people a little through emails and the hand written part of the program, is such a nice thing.

I couldn’t even wait, I opened the cup as soon as I opened the package. Surprisingly, after a week, I still have some left!

I really recommend everyone sign up for this, it is so much fun, and such a well organized process! For more information check out The Lean Green Bean.

Hopefully I will get my meal plan up later today, plus I have all those others posts I keep promising! I have so many great pictures and DIYs from the big 1st birthday party this past weekend to share with you! So stay tuned for that!

  1. I’m very happy that you enjoyed your parcel full of treats. I love the term “Tea Granny” and plan on using it whenever I can. I agree that one of the fun things about the pen pal program is meeting new people. And you still have Jelly Bellys left? Good girl!

    1. I think the only reason I have some left is because we have had soooooo many other treats in the house from the birthday party on the weekend. I’ll save them for a quiet kid free moment when I can really enjoy them!

  2. I’m a tea granny, too! :) And, don’t even get me started on dark chocolate!! Love the name of your blog. I used to clip coupons, but it was way too time consuming and with all of the stores changing their policies, it just didn’t make sense to keep doing it. But, I still like to be frugal and save money in other ways :).

    1. Combine the two and you are even better off! Right now I am loving Vanilla Earl Grey and Chocolate Mint Tea :) with a little piece of dark chocolate on the side!

Thanks! Sometimes I think the title might confuse people, thinking I love to spend money, but I am glad you understand :)
