Last weeks’ epic shop worked out really well! I only needed to pick up a couple of things on Saturday (namely fresh fruit) to get through Saturday and Sunday. Maybe I have finally figured this grocery shopping thing out…we’ll see how it goes this week.
Here is what we are eating this week:
Monday – roast chicken with roasted carrots and sweet potatoes
Wednesday – spaghetti and salad
Thursday – pork chops with corn on the cob and salad
Friday – baked fish with garlic green beans and rice
In addition to making the bread I’ll probably whip up a batch of whole wheat banana muffins for a change in snacks for the kids. I am hoping to make a batch of strawberry applesauce. My kids eat this a lot, and it’s expensive, and loaded with sugar, so I figured for the price of two packs of the stuff, I could make about 10 times that and can it…no idea what I am doing in the canning department, so I’m going to ask my mother for help with the canning process (she makes her own sweet chili sauce and pickled hot peppers each summer!)
