What a weekend. My little brothers wedding day finally arrived, what a lucky guy to marry his best friend, and I am so happy to have her as a sister-in-law. It was an incredible day: beautiful ceremony, amazing speeches and first dances, and then we partied till they stopped pouring drinks. But, that’s not to say there weren’t a few hiccups….like my son being sick to his stomach right before the ceremony, just missing the bride, but managing to cover his father, himself and the stairs! Like my daughter being grumpy after the ceremony and refusing to be in any pictures and just wanting to go home and nap. I don’t want to say it was a waste, trying to have my kids involved as ring bearer and flower girl, but all that time spent on making her dress, and all that money spent on his kilt, does kinda seem like a waste now. And the fact that my son, looking super cute in his kilt, only ended up being in one family picture because he felt so sick. Once they were back home with Grandma and in bed, my husband and I had a great time with family and friends celebrating the new husband and wife. I guess it’s a great story to have, that I will be sure to tell on my son’s wedding day!
So life is kinda back to normal this week, with the exception of it being Halloween. So our meal plan is pretty straight forward:
Monday – ham and cheese quiche with veggies and dip
Tuesday – baked pork chops with roasted peppers, carrots, and sweet potatoes
Wednesday – cabbage roll soup (so excited to try this recipe!)
Thursday – pizza and salad
Friday – fish and chips (the chips being home made baked sweet potato fries)
Hope you all had a great weekend, now go and plan those meals! Make sure to stop by Org Junkie for lots of menu and meal ideas.
