How it is the end of November?!
Advent starts this weekend, which means we are only weeks away from Christmas! I always try to get most of my shopping done before Advent starts, so that I’m not rushing around a frenzied mess and all stressed. I want Advent to be a relaxed and calm time, a time or waiting, and prayer, and preparing for the birth of Jesus. Gradually decorating the house, baking, watching all the Christmas movies and shows with the kids. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
Thankfully, we are getting our winter colds out of the way now! I was knocked on my butt last Friday. The 6yo got it first, passed it to the youngest, who passed it to me and the 3yo. It’s a rough one, fever, chills, aches, coughing, sneezing! The whole works! I’m still stuffed up, and coughing, but the fog has cleared and I am able to stand without getting dizzy.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I did grocery pick up for the first time. No way would I have made it through the store sick, and with two miserable little sick ones in tow. Ordered everything last night, and picked it up after I dropped the two older ones at school. So easy! And Walmart dropped their fee, so it was free! I don’t see myself doing this regularly, since I prefer to shop at Costco and No Frills, but it worked out perfectly today!
So, with my huge grocery haul, here is what I’m planning for dinner this week:
Monday – pizza and veggie sticks (frozen mini pizzas for the kids, and a fresh pizza from Walmart for the adults)
Tuesday – Spaghetti and meatballs (my famous spaghetti sauce, just with pre-made meatballs instead of ground meat)
Wednesday – turkey sausage and veggie tray bake
Thursday – big salads with chicken
Friday – baked fish with fries and broccoli
As always I’m linking up over at Org Junkie
