Faith Fridays – Give Thanks

Still trying to think of a New Years Resolution?

We often try to start out the new year on the right foot; eating healthy, exercising, de-cluttering and organizing. But so often we over look whats on the inside, like working on our attitude, trying to stay positive, and taking care of our soul.

I’ve seen quite a few ideas about giving thanks and working on being thankful as a resolution for 2018, and I think this is a wonderful idea! Simple and easy, but it can have a huge impact on you! I know many of us get on our knees and pray, but how often is that done just to simply give thanks for what God has given you? Praying isn’t just for asking for things, and making requests in a time of need, it’s also for giving thanks for what you already have, the big and small.

Keeping track of what you are thankful for is a great idea too. A daily note kept in a journal, or a jar, or even just a list on your phone! It’s nice to have something to look back on, so you can reread all the things you have to be thankful for, especially on those darker days. When something goes wrong and you feel like there is nothing to be thankful for, you will have a physical reminder of all the good there is in your life.

So start off 2018 on the right foot. Eat healthy, exercise, de-clutter your home, but work on more than that too. Work on being thankful for what you already have, give thanks for all the wonderful things in your life, it will change your mood, your attitude, and your perspective on life in a positive way.
